


Do you charge for inspections and diagnosis?
We are happy to do a free "courtesy check" inspection any time we are doing any maintenance or repair to your car. This a 35 point check list that helps identify any areas that need attention.
Diagnosis is often times different depending on the nature of the problem. If we can visually inspect the care and know what needs to de done, then you certainly would not be charged. However, sometimes the hardest part of the repair is figuring out the problem. Lets say that we spent several hours tracing wires to find out why your engine wouldn't run, once we discovered that there was a broken wire under the carpet by the passengers feet, the repair itself was easy. We would have given you a not to exceed estimate before we started to work and the repair would have been less than that amount. No surprise big bills.
What is the warranty of your work?
All our work, parts and labor, is covered by our 1 year / unlimited mileage warranty less otherwise stated.
How long will my car last?
This is always a tough question to answer. Modern cars are quite well designed and built. We have many owners that keep their cars running well for many years. The answer seems to be routine maintenance and dedication to repairing whatever things do go wrong. Many vehicles go more than 200,000 miles without much trouble. See our customers and their cars.
How much is a diagnostic?
In 1996 a federal program called OBD II, On-Board Diagnosis II, has been mandatory on all new cars. This has many benefits allowing technicians to plug equipment in under a cars' dash and download information from the cars computer system. Unfortunately, these electronic scanners are expensive, costing between three and ten thousand dollars plus many hundreds of dollars worth of software to make them operate. They are must have tools but even with this level of sophistication they often time just point the mechanic in a direction where he will still have several hours of component testing to do before he has a clear picture of the cars problem. We usually start this procedure with an estimate of $65.00.
Are you really cheaper than the dealers?

I have a new car. Don't I have to take it back to the dealer while it is under warranty?
Absolutely not! We service many new cars every day and can keep your warranty in full effect. There are several advantages to this. Our prices are lower. We don't try and sell you any gimmicky made up services or bait-and-switch you into some expensive extra items. We tell you up front what it will cost to do the factory recommend servicing of your car or truck.
When can I bring my car in?
Appointments are usually a good idea. Some times of the year we are full up several days in advance. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Just call us and we will arrange and appointment at a time that is most appropriate. We usually can give you an idea of how long the work will take and what you can expect.
